The District has completed mapping the Luke Wash ADMP area in preparation of the Luke Wash Area Drainage Master Study/Plan (ADMS/P). The mapped area covers approximately 115 square miles of watershed located in the southwestern part of the ADMP area. The area is bounded on its northern limit just above Hayden-Rhodes Aqueduct, on its southern limit at the Gila River, on its eastern limit at the Hassayampa River and Jackrabbit Wash, and on the western limit west of 363rd Avenue.
The mapping was conducted at both a two- and four-foot interval using conventional aerial photography with field surveys to verify the mapping accuracy.
Mapping was completed in 2006. A floodplain delineation is in progress for Luke Wash under a separate project. The Area Drainage Master Plan will be further pursued at a later date.
