Description:

This project, recommended by the Foothills Area Drainage Master Plan, provides protection from 100-year floods. The project consists of a basin, at 48th Street and Pecos Road, and a collection system. The basin is now a City of Phoenix park. In accordance with the IGA, the District was the construction lead and was a cost share partner with the City of Phoenix which acted as the lead agency in the design of the project. The basin is intended to ultimately outfall to the Gila Drain floodway through a connection to the Southeast Valley Regional Drainage System; however, approval of the Gila River Indian Community has not been negotiated to date by the City of Phoenix.
