Dreamy Draw Dam is a compacted earthfill flood control dam and was the first of four dams built under the Phoenix, Arizona, and Vicinity plan. The dam detains runoff water from the north, confines it to the reservoir area and releases the water into Dreamy Draw. The dam has a maximum height of 56 feet and is 448 feet in length with a storage capacity of 317 acre-feet. The emergency spillway for the dam is located in a saddle about 400 feet east of the dam. The dam was constructed under the sponsorship of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The District and the USACE shared project costs.Operation and Maintenance: Flood Control District
