The design of the interim Pima Freeway by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) included drainage features along the Beardsley Road alignment that provided substantial flood control benefits to downstream properties. The features implemented included storm drains, a channel and two detention basins that provide flood protection to over 1000 residential, commercial and public properties in the area. Per the IGA, the District was the lead agency on the project and a cost share partner with ADOT. The City of Phoenix provided project rights-of-way.Owner and Maintenance: ADOT
