District: 4 - Clint L. Hickman
Description:

The North Peoria ADMP laid the groundwork for flood control activities in the largely un-urbanized North Peoria area. The study are included 73 square miles of watershed from the Maricopa County line south to the Twin Buttes Wash and Agua Fria River confluence, from Lake Pleasant Road west to approximately Twin Buttes Wash and the Morgan City Wash southern watershed boundary.

The ADMP examined drainage in the undeveloped Morgan City Wash and northern watersheds that contribute to the Agua Fria River, identified current and anticipated potential future drainage problems, and generated recommended development guidelines to alleviate potential flooding problems. Flooding solutions were predominantly nonstructural. This included approximately 22.5 miles of floodplain delineation work and 40 miles of erosion hazard setback analyses.

Status:

The ADMP was completed in 2002. Floodplain delineations were submitted for FEMA approval, and approval was granted.
