The Arcadia Drive Drainage Improvements Project was identified in the Flood Control District's Metro Area Drainage Master Plan and provides an outfall for the 10-year storm in the Arcadia area. The second phase of this overall project, the Lafayette Interceptor Drain and Outlet, connects to the new storm drain for the Old Cross Cut Canal Extension which runs along Arcadia Drive from Indian School Road to just north of the Arizona Canal.
The Lafayette project includes a storm drain system along Arcadia Drive from just north of the Arizona Canal to Lafayette Boulevard, west along Lafayette Boulevard from Arcadia Drive to near 44th Street, and north from Lafayette Boulevard to Colter Street following the Village Drive alignment.
The City of Phoenix and the District shared the cost of the implementation of this project. The City of Phoenix owns and maintains the completed project.
Construction is complete and the Project has been turned over to the City of Phoenix.
