The Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District) is conducting the Grand Avenue in Peoria Floodplain Delineation Study to update the floodplain along Grand Avenue and BNSF Railroad between 67th and 87th Avenues. This study will revise approximately three linear miles of floodplain.

The study area is located in the Cities of Peoria and Glendale, Arizona.

Once the study is complete, impacted property owners will be invited to a public meeting to review its results. The study results will then be submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for review, approval, and incorporation onto the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the area. A study of this size typically takes approximately 9 months to a year for results to be integrated onto the FIRM. In the interim, the study information will be on the District’s floodplain map for floodplain management purposes.

This study has been approved by FEMA.
