To mitigate historical flooding within the Carefree Town Center, improvements were made to the existing drainage system including culverts, storm drains and wash restoration to provide 100-year flood protection. The Town of Carefree was the lead on this project and the District, in accordance with the IGA, was a cost share partner with an agreement to cover 50% of the cost, not to exceed $550,000.
