Project Description:

This is a joint project between the City of Scottsdale and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County. The City of Scottsdale is the lead agency for the design and construction of the project. The project consists of an open channel along Pima Road from 500 feet north of Pinnacle Peak Rd to 1/4 mile north of Happy Valley Rd.  The project will capture and convey stormwater from the east and northeast to an existing channel south of Pinnacle Peak Road.  This project will be constructed in conjunction with the City of Scottsdale's project for reconstructing Pima Rd. 

The Pima Road Drainage Channel Project was identified in the Pinnacle Peak South Area Drainage Master Study as being a necessary solution to mitigate the flood hazards in the area. The project will provide 100-year flood protection to 56 of structures and will reduce the frequency of flooding and flood damage for 73 structures.
