Project Description:

The Del Webb Corporation constructed several drainage and roadway features within the developments of Sun City and Sun City West. Del Webb requested that the County assume operation and maintenance of these features, and the County subsequently requested that the District assume the operation and maintenance of the drainage features. In accordance with the County-District agreement, the District is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drainage facilities, while the Maricopa Department of Transportation retains responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the roadway drains and conveyance of surface water as long as the features are within unincorporated Maricopa County. The District began maintaining the drainage features in 1990.
