Project Type: Engineering/Design

Project Description:

In 1997, the District completed its Arcadia Area Drainage Project study. The study, and later the Metro Area Drainage Master Plan, recommended a series of storm drains in the Arcadia area intended to reduce flooding hazards resulting from Camelback Mountain stormwater runoff and ponding against the Arizona Canal. The Lafayette Interceptor Drain will likely be the first of these facilities to be implemented.

The Project, which may be phased, will include a storm drain along 40th Street north of Camelback Road, a storm drain along Lafayette Boulevard between Camelback Road and Arcadia Drive, and an outlet along Arcadia Drive from Lafayette Boulevard to the improved Old Cross Cut Canal.
