Project Description:

This project constructs a concrete low flow channel within the existing, grass-lined East Maricopa Floodway, extending from Germann Road at the downstream end to Power Road at the upstream end.

The slope of the existing channel is very flat, resulting in ponding of water and muddy conditions. Concerns about mosquitos been received from adjacent neighborhoods.

The purpose of the concrete low flow channel is to eliminate most of the ponding and muddy conditions, facilitate sediment and debris removal and other maintenance activities.

This project is now complete and all the disturbed areas of the channel have been treated with hydro-mulch to help prevent erosion.
