Project Description:
The Mandan Street Drainage Improvement Project, a joint effort between the Flood Control District and the City of Phoenix. The purpose of the ¼ mile long concrete and earthen-lined channel is to reduce the risk of storm water runoff from South Mountain Park reaching homes along Mandan Street. Storm water is collected and conveyed south to an existing drainage channel. The completed channel will be approximately 65 feet wide and 3 ½ feet deep.

The project team is pleased to announce the 1-year landscape establishment period has ended. The temporary construction fence and irrigation system has been removed and the project is now 100% complete.

The project team is pleased to announce the completion of the flood mitigation project along Mandan Street. With the completion of the construction portion of this project, the contractor will now begin the one-year plant maintenance and establishment period. The contractor will continue to have protective fencing onsite until the completion of the maintenance period.
Concrete Lining Installation

Installation of the concrete lining is underway. Once that is complete, construction of the engineered earth bank will follow.
